LUCTONIANS Rugby Club have secured the services of the experienced Stewart Jardine as senior squad coach.
Although the former Scotland A and B international worked with the 1st XV towards the end of last season with great success, he had a number of offers from National League clubs and Luctonians considered it a coup to retain him.
Injury put an end of Jardine's first-class career after playing scrum-half for Scotland Students, Great Britain Students, Scotland A and B and Pontypool.
Now a teacher at Ludlow, he coached Cardiff, Harlequins, Wolverhampton and then Stourbridge for three seasons.
His appointment means that Simon Green-Price, Luctonians' full-time administrator and director of coaching, will take over the Colts coaching and become more involved with the youth section.
Jardine will also be involved in coaching the Scotland under-18 and under-19 Exiles team.
Meanwhile, the North Herefordshire club have continued their successful exchange programme with the Gungahlin club in Canberra, Australia, by welcoming Tim Sedgwick. While joining Luctonians as a player and coach, the Australian will also be working at Bishop's and Moor Park schools.
Returning to Luctonians after a sponsored season at Gungahlin are Steve Jaques and Will Price, while two more Australians from that club, Matt Dawes and Dan Grant, are arriving over here next month.
