Lye Town Reserves 1 Ledbury Town 8

ROBBIE Colwell bagged four as Ledbury atoned for last week's defeat by Bewdley by caning Lye Town Reserves away from home.

Ledbury started brightly and created several chances before Colwell opened the scoring with a looping header from a Duncan Preedy free kick. Minutes later Colwell returned the compliment when he threaded a ball through the home defence for Preedy to hammer home. Just before the break Colwell put his side three clear.

Ledbury continued to dominate after the interval and went further ahead with goals from Preedy, Colwell (2) and Mark Herbert (2).

Lye scored a consolation goal from a counter attack.

BOTH sides were ahead twice in this battle of the Division 1 South top two and Leominster finally snatched a draw with a strike from Gareth George five minutes from time.

Germaine Smith put the visitors ahead inside three minutes but their hosts hit back with a penalty from Daniel Rocke and a goal for Chris Price.

Smith bagged his second after the break when he slotted the ball past Leominster keeper Scott Hodgetts but Rocke put his side back ahead with a side-footed strike.

Bustleholme's Nathan Glanville scored twice to make it 4-3 to the visitors, but George had the last say when he received a chip into the area from Russell Freeman, turned on the edge of the six-yard box and fired home.

Hinton's scheduled away game against Gornal Reserves was cancelled when Gornal informed the West Midlands League that they could not raise a team and were withdrawing from the competition.
