Westfields 1
Ettingshall 1
WESTFIELDS missed an opportunity to record their fourth Banks's Brewery West Midlands Premier League win of the season when a combination of squandered chances and controversial decisions meant that they could only share the points with visitors Ettingshall.
They spurned early chances when John Hulton fired wide from close range after being put through by Paul Price, Matt Phillips blasted over the bar, and then saw his inviting cross wasted.
Ettingshall capitalised on their good fortune and took the lead against the run of play when Lee Elliot appeared to control a cross with his hand before hitting a low drive past Jon Pugh. Westfields played themselves back into the game and deservedly got on terms when Derek Craddock hit the target from six yards after being set up by Steve Higgins.
Although disappointed at not picking up the three points, Westfields did extend their unbeaten league run to five matches.
