HEREFORDSHIRE-born three-day event rider Leslie Law will represent Great Britain in this month's Olympics in Sydney, Australia.
Law, along with horse Shear H20, will make his first Olympic appearance in the team event of the equestrian competition, which starts on Saturday.
Three-day eventing comprises of three disciplines - dressage, cross-country and show jumping.
Law's good form this year, which included a second place finish at the world famous Badminton Horse Trials, ensured selection for the British side.
He will be praying for better luck than he experienced at the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta, USA, when his horse New Flavour went lame on the eve of the event, forcing him to withdraw.
This time around the 35-year-old, who was raised in Eardisley, went to Lady Hawkins School in Kington and later moved to Whitney-on-Wye, will have his parents, Lawson and Margaret, to cheer him on.
They have made the trip Down Under and almost had two offspring to cheer on. Leslie's brother Graham made it on to the 15-strong selection long list but did not gain a place in the final side of eight.
