GIFT - The parochial church council would like to hear views from residents of how to spend a small capital gift which must benefit the church building. A short list of four ideas has been made, covering additional heating, a water supply and resurfacing the path, glazing the porch, or a screen or curtain to Aramstone Lady Chapel. Secretary Philip Brandram Jones can be contacted on 01432 840283 and the most favourable suggestion will be selected.

NEW HEAD - Kings Caple Primary School is to have a new head teacher. Julia Morris will be taking from retiring head teacher, Miss Lewis, after 12 years' service. Miss Morris was previously deputy head teacher at Kingstone with Thruxton Primary School and music and mathematics are her specialised subjects. A new Key One teacher, Christine Hayes, has also been appointed. She previously taught at Marlbrook Primary School.

COMMON LAND - Kings Caple Commoners are arranging another meeting following previous discussion regarding the developments of the common land opposite the church. A date is to be arranged.

WHIST - Whist evenings at The Old School take place on the third Thursday of each month, the next being September 21. Novice or the more experienced players are always welcome.

HARVEST SUPPER - A harvest supper is being planned for September 30 at The Old School where there will be seating available for 50 people. The church service will be on September 28.
