DUCK RACE - A successful duck race held on the mill stream recently raised more than £300 for the village hall funds. The fete and barbecue held in July on the village recreation ground for the same purpose, was equally successful. This raised more than £400. Thanks to the organisers and supporters of these events.

GARDENS - The open gardens event was a great success and met with approval from garden owners, helpers and visitors. It was fortunate it was held on one of the best weekends of the summer for continuously pleasant weather. It is hoped the event can be repeated next year and a meeting will be held shortly to discuss this. This was the most successful activity held this year from the point of view of revenue generated.

ARCHAEOLOGY PROJECTS - At a recent meeting, it was agreed an interim report should be prepared in the next few months to indicate how the overall aims and objectives were being achieved. The finds from the mound at Burton Court had been examined and were now to be classified. For further details contact Paul Selfe 01544 388571.
