Ledbury Sports Karate Club competed in an Open Tournament at Birmingham recently and came away with a total of ten trophies between them.

This tournament was in memory of Mr Roy Partridge and all the money from the tournament (which is a substantial amount) is going to the Birmingham Children's Hospital.

Dave Earl had a first and second in the Individual Fighting and Team Kata and Carl Reeks had a first, second and third in the Individual Fighting, Team Fighting and Team Kata.

Kevin Smith had a second and third in the Fighting and Team Kata, Steve Avery had a second in the Team Kata and Lee Reeks had a third in the Individual Kata with Dave Webster also having a third in the Individual Kata.

Amy Hilling, Ashley Hinton and Lee Reeks competed for the first time in the Team Kata and missed third place by half a point. As beginners this was a great achievement for them.

Training takes place at Ledbury Leisure Centre, Tuesday evenings 6.30-7.30pm children. 7.30-8.30pm adults. The Club instructor is Dave Bennet assisted by Carl Reeks.
