Organisers of this year's Bredenbury Art Exhibition are celebrating the most successful show to date, with £600 taken for St Andrew's Church.
This is £100 higher than the previous best of £500 in 1998.
The three-day exhibition, which opened on Saturday, September 2, also featured the largest number of paintings ever displayed at the parish hall venue. There were 202 paintings in total, around 15 up on the previous best two years ago.
Except for a 10 per cent commission fee, the artists get to keep the proceeds from sales. This year, 35 pictures were sold to visitors.
Spokeswoman Sally Willmott said: "The whole thing went extremely well and I'm absolutely delighted. I thoroughly enjoyed doing it and it was well supported by the community.
"An event like this stands and falls on its reputation."
Despite the record takings, visitor numbers over the three days were very slightly down on the last show, which, in line with the bi-annual policy, took place two years ago. Then 167 visitors were recorded, compared to 162 this year.
