Ledbury Town travelled away to Lye with a noticeably changed side from the one that lost to Bewdley, bringing four youngsters into the squad for this Banks's Division One South fixture.

LYE TOWN RESERVES 1, LEDBURY TOWN 8

They began the game very positively and created numerous chances before a free kick on the half way line saw Duncan Preedy's long ball cleverly looped over the Lye goalkeeper by the head of Robbie Colwell to give Ledbury an early lead.

Spurred on by this goal Ledbury kept creating and a through ball to Colwell saw him cross wide for Preedy to volley home from close range. At 2-0 Ledbury were playing confidently and their defence seemed to be coping with everything the opposition could create, youngsters Martin Punt and Towan Ravenscroft adapting well and playing to their full potential.

However a lapse in concentration saw a deep cross into the Ledbury penalty area poorly cleared and a push by Chris Powell resulted in a penalty. The spot kick was athletically saved by Martin Cole in the Ledbury goal.

With more pressure mounting on them Lye began to make errors and Colwell quickly added another goal making it 3-0 at half time.

The second half saw Ledbury continue their commanding display with Colwell again crossing from wide for Preedy to power a header past the keeper.

It was all Ledbury now and Colwell soon made it five when Ravenscroft won the ball and it fell to Colwell to round the keeper.

Everyone on the Ledbury side now wanted the ball and a deep corner from Preedy saw Lee Clueit rise highest only to see his effort cleared off the line, the ball fell to Colwell who hit the bar, the ball then came to Mark Herbert who hammered home at the second attempt.

Lye wouldn't give in and a quick break saw a midfielder latch onto a long ball and coolly convert for what seemed to be consolation goal. This didn't stop Ledbury and Colwell soon added a seventh and his fourth. Moments later a ball pulled back to Herbert was crashed home from fully 20 yards.

A much improved performance by Town and solid games from Martin and Richard Punt along with Towan Ravenscroft and Lewis Skyers.
