FORMER Hereford player Nicola Goodwin has been honoured by the Rugby Football Union for Women.

Nicola, aged 26, was presented with the Unsung Hero Award by RFUW president Liz Jennings at the annual dinner for her commitment to women's rugby both on and off the pitch.

Nicola is chairwoman of Worcester Ladies' Section and has been volunteer press officer for the RFUW for three seasons.

She plays at hooker for Worcester and is a member of the England senior squad.

The RFUW dinner was held at the Rose Room, Twickenham, when the guest of honour was Kate Howey, Minister for Sport.
