NOW everyone can enjoy the Mappa Mundi exhibition. A new version specially designed for the blind and partially sighted opens tonight at Hereford Cathedral.
The £18,000 project has developed a 'tactile' display which uses Braille as well as 'textural and sculptural interpretations' to bring the ancient map to life.
Interactive CD-ROMs have also been installed to complete the 21st century presentation.
The project, which is being unveiled at 6.30pm, has been completed with the co-operation of the Royal National College for the Blind.
