FRIENDS of the late Sue Parry have raised a fantastic £7,578 for St Michael's Hospice in her memory.

A group of Sue's closest friends, and her mother, Sandra Parry, made a huge effort to raise the money by holding events throughout the summer.

They cycled on four tandems from High Town in Hereford to present the cheque at the Bartestree hospice where Sue was cared for.

"The appeal has touched a lot of people's hearts and we are extremely grateful to everyone involved," said Jane Jones at the hospice.

Pictured with the tandems, kindly provided by Joy Rides of Peterchurch, are (from left) Sandra Parry, Lyn Gummer, Jenny Smith, Wendy Brown, Michelle Dukes, Asha Berry, Toni Robinson, Gale Robinson, Carol Price and Pam Dukes.

Sue's best friend, Sue Morgan, who has been involved with the appeal from the start, was unable to attend on the day due to a mix-up over work commitments.

However, her employer Safeway allowed fund-raisers to hold a collection at the Hereford store.
