Ledbury Swifts had a convincing win on Sunday morning in this Under 14's league match, when they defeated Tupsley Pegasus by 11-0.

LEDBURY SWIFTS 11, TUPSLEY PEGASUS 0

The Swifts took an early lead after only a few minutes of play when Adam Willis scored his 100th goal for Ledbury. He is the first player in the side to reach this milestone, a fine achievement and a just reward for his continued hard work for the team. Will Smith was on top form and was the highest scorer of the day with four goals. Rodney Hathaway marked his move from defence into midfield by scoring with two long range shots and Martin Loveridge was again on the score sheet with two well taken goals. The other Swifts scorers were Spencer Rouse with a fine solo effort and Marc Wildig with a superb shot. Patrick Locke worked tirelessly in midfield and was unlucky not to be on the score sheet himself.

The Under 14's, sponsored by Haygrove Fruit Farms, have a very difficult match on Sunday morning with a home fixture against Westfields.

LEDBURY SWIFTS 3, TUPSLEY PEGASUS 1

THE Swifts made the short journey to Tupsley for this Under 11's League game and again came away with the points to remain unbeaten this year.

Ledbury at the start had to reorganise due to their keeper reporting ill. Phil Prichard was asked to play in goal for the first time. Ledbury got off to a flying start in the first minute when A Savager was put through on goal only to see his shot well blocked by the keeper but the rebound fell straight to Carl Wildig to score his first goal of the season, 0-1. Minutes later another attack saw the ball again fall to C Wildig on the edge of the box to score his second with a well taken shot 0-2. Ledbury continued to push forward and on ten minutes M Widdows won the ball, pushed forward an scored with a left foot shot 0-3. Five minutes before half time for once the well drilled Ledbury defence let in Tupsley to score from close range. Half time 1-3.

In the second half Ledbury continued to dominate with their keeper only dealing with a few loose balls on the edge of the box, the only mystery was how Ledbury failed to increase their lead with countless corners. S Dixon hitting the bar, several shots blocked on the line and deflected wide and the keeper making several fine saves, the score remained 1-3.

Man of the Match was Carl Wildig.

LEDBURY SWIFTS 3,

LADS CLUB ROVERS 0

SWIFTS continued their fine form in the Under 10s league with this convincing win against a physically strong Lads Club side at home on Saturday.

Swifts gradually got on top and had the chance to go in front from a penalty but unfortunately the keeper made a good save from Joshua Emery's spot kick. However Swifts continued to move the ball around well from defence with Jamie Onions, Chris James and Thomas Watkins all using the ball with good effect. Joshua Emery soon made up for his miss when he burst into the box and finished well with his left foot to put Swifts in front. He nearly made it two with a great header form a Lewis Hodges corner by the keeper made a great save. Lads Club did force a number of corners but Sam Beale in the Swifts' goal dominated his area.

Sam turned provider when his long clearance found Thomas Boyle who found space to fire home Swifts' second on the stroke of half time.

In the second half Swifts were in no mood to let this game slip and they continued to push forward getting more on top Lewis Hodges was running well with the ball down the right flank and Chris James was joining the attack well on the left. It came as no surprise when Thomas Boyle added Swifts' third with another powerful finish to put them well in command.

Several subs were introduced as Swifts ran out winners 3-0.

LEDBURY SWIFTS 3, DORE VALLEY 1

LEDBURY Swifts continued their climb up the Under 9's League table, when they eventually overpowered a hard working Dore Valley side.

As the first half wore on Dore Valley took control as the Swifts seemed to lose their way and had to be thankful to some poor finishing by the visitors. Swifts though did have an excellent chance to take the lead when Adam Davis was through on his own but shot wide. But it was no surprise when Dore Valley took the lead with a good shot past Bayross in the Ledbury goal. This woke up the Swifts and a Febery shot went just wide and Davis was put through twice more with only the keeper to beat but failed to score. With Nelder and Powell pushing forward from defence Dore Valley found it hard to get out of their box and with two minutes of the half left Nelder whipped over a good cross which Craig Hilling headed powerfully home.

The second half was once again a close affair and it was hard to see a winner. But the Swifts power eventually started to pay off as they forced several corners and shots by Febery, Powell and Critchard were all saved by the keeper. But with time running out Swifts at last took the lead when Febery scored with a good shot and shortly afterwards Critchard volleyed in from another corner.

The Swifts are away on Saturday to Leominster Minors.
