Hereford City Sports Club will be celebrating this weekend the belated opening of their new clubhouse.

Former England and Bath winger David Trick is the speaker at a club dinner tomorrow night (Friday) to mark the new beginning.

Past and present players of Hereford Ladies Hockey club will battle it out on Saturday.

While Hereford Cricket Club's former and present players will join forces for an interesting game on Sunday.

An open morning for people to browse the club and its facilities is planned for Sunday from 10.30am.

Fund-raising organiser Larry Noble praised sports club chairman Tim Block for his efforts in making the new venture possible.

The clubhouse, which is yet to be fully furnished, includes four changing rooms, a lift, skittles alley, kitchen, balcony, built-on scorebox and a bar.

Rugby, cricket, rounders, table-tennis, skittles, pool, darts and petanques are among the sports played at the club.
