Bridgnorth Town Res 2 Leominster Town 4
DAN Plowman led the way when he claimed a brace to secure Leomin-ster's place in the second round of the West Midlands League Division 1 South Cup.
Leominster took a little time to settle down playing up the considerable slope that is a characteristic of the Bridgnorth venue. But they went ahead in the 11th minute when Plowman chested down a ball and turned a defender before firing into the corner of the net.
Further pressure saw Leominster extend their lead just before the break when Taffy Evans and Daniel Rocke combined well for Rocke to unleash a fierce cross-shot which the home goalkeeper could only parry. Neil Bennett followed up to score with a diving header.
Bridgnorth broke away to pull a goal back through Richard Thomas soon after the interval before Plowman restored Leominster's two-goal advantage when he raced clear to finish after Evans had headed an attempted Bridgnorth clearance back into their half.
Thomas got a second to set up an exciting finish, but Plowman dummied a pass from Dylan Barring-ton for Chris Price to slam home the final Leominster goal.
