Ross Town 2 Clanfield 2
WOEFUL finishing and a five-star performance from the visiting goalkeeper resulted in Ross having to settle for a draw in Division 1 West of the Cherry Red Hellenic League when their overall display was worthy of a win.
With Damien Edwards and Rob Connolly in control of midfield, the home team dominated the first period but Billy Davis had a weak penalty saved Jason Hunt in the Clanfield goal.
Against the run of play the visitors went ahead when Ryan Pratley netted from close range. Three minutes later Ross were level when Davis finally beat Hunt with a fierce drive from a narrow angle after his first effort had been blocked.
Two minutes later they were in front when skipper Kevin Horsfall scored a penalty after new-signing Andy Shepherd was brought down.
After the home team had dominated the early stages of the second-half, the visitors pulled level when Jason Court scored direct from a free-kick which took a wicked deflection.
