LOCAL poet Flora Hughes will be holding a book-signing of her newly published work, 'The Golden Apple' on Thursday, December 6 at Ross Books, Ross-on-Wye.
The collection entails a range of work and includes both emotive and humorous poems, based on Flora's life and people she has met.
Flora, 82, was encouraged to get her work published by her son and is overjoyed to finally see her lifetime's work in print.
"On my birthday he told me that if I didn't do something soon it would be too late!" said Flora, a RADA-trained actress who gave up her career when she moved to Ross with her husband over 30 years ago.
The book, priced £6.99, has 48 poems and is sure to make interesting reading. The signing will start at 11am.
