Westfields 0 Kington Town 2
WESTFIELDS' unbeaten five-match run was brought to an abrupt end by county rivals Kington in an exciting West Midlands League Premier Division clash on Tuesday.
The balance of the game swung to the visitors early in the second half when Westfields central defender Darren Lynch was sent off for retaliation.
Kington took full advantage and stepped up their game as the depleted home team tried to reorganise. The pressure eventually paid off when Westfields failed to clear a header across the box by Roy Jordan and their former defender David Howes stabbed the ball from close range.
Young striker Ben Chambers effectively settled the outcome 10 minutes later when he collected the ball just outside the box and found the target with 25-yard pile-driver after Westfields lost possession in their own half.
l Westfields have a big game this Monday when Kidderminster Harriers visit Rotherwas in a quarter-final tie of the Worcester Royal Infirmary Cup, kick-off 7.45.
The Third Division club are expected to bring a strong team from their squad. They asked for the game to be brought forward to Monday as they have a Football League game on Wednesday.
