A DISTINCTIVE statue that was reported as a 'missing person' to Hereford police has mysteriously turned up at a city pub.
The naked 3ft high, pot-bellied wooden statue disappeared from the garden of a house in Whitehorse Street over Christmas.
He was found wrapped in a black bag at the rear of the Britannia Inn in nearby Cotterell Street on January 3. He had The Hereford Times 'missing person' article attached to his head along with a plea.
It read: "Help I'm Lost! I went away on my Christmas break because I was too cold stuck on a wall - but I ended up in a dustbin after I was mugged! Please take me home!"
He was made very welcome and spent a cheerful evening in the pub before police returned him to his rightful owner.
