The girls at Parkfields Gallery, Ross-on-Wye, are celebrating their first year in business. Since its opening last January the team has attracted custom from all over the West.

Established by Cheryl Perrett and run by her dedicated team the gallery shows an eclectic range of painting, sculpture, ceramic and glass by individual makers of local and national repute. At the beginning of 2001 it was awarded Crafts Council status for the quality and presentation of work on show - a real feather in the cap!

The merry band of informed staff includes Wendy Troy who worked with Royal Worcester as a surface pattern designer before going freelance. Working alongside her is Sue Williams who again returned to college, this time at Hereford, to pursue her work with textiles. The inspiration for her work is derived from the rolling Herefordshire landscape and is on display in a number of galleries locally.

Jill Marsh joined the Parkfields team in November 2001. She too trained in Hereford as a mature student and works in many different mediums - drawing, painting and making.

Fritha Clutterbuck takes overall charge of the gallery exhibition programmes at the Town and Country sites. Fritha has a wealth of experience in organising exhibitions having worked for a number of years at the National Art Gallery, Wellington, in her native New Zealand.
