Written and directed by Iain Storey 'Africa Africa' presents a musical of traditional Zulu cultural vibrancy that echoes the essence of The Mighty Zulu Nation and the heartbeat of Africa.

A kaleidoscopic blend of rhythm, song and dance - the show tells of the powerful unifying forces of the Sangoma - witchdoctors. The production portrays the fascinating proposal, engagement and wedding ceremony as performed before the missionaries came to South Africa, bringing with them their Christian influence and teachings.

The story follows a young apprentice witchdoctor who discovers, while reading the bones, he is soon to be married. His bride-to-be is the daughter of a chief who once laid claim to ten cows belonging to his family. The young apprentice views the wedding as an opportunity to cunningly claim back the ten cows belonging to his father. In order to accomplish this he enlists the help of the mighty and all-powerful witchdoctor Dlondlobala.

Traditional costumes, drumming and dancing combine to create exciting, energetic and enthusiastic performances giving the ultimate musical sensation.

The Mighty Zulu Nation, founded by Iain Storey in 1994, has established itself as the leading African Performance Company and exists to promote the appreciation, understanding and practice of Zulu and African peoples dance, its music and its cultural heritage.
