HEREFORDSHIRE fielded three senior and two junior teams at the West Midlands Netball tournament in Walsall and finished fifth overall.
The county, who were ranked one of the lowest teams in the competition, fared well and the under-16 squad had their best tournament for several years.
The under-16 team finished a creditable sixth in their age section after recording wins over Staffordshire (9-6) and Shropshire (9-7).
The senior first team secured a well-earned 16-9 victory over Staffordshire but they were unable to take any points in their remaining matches, while the senior second side beat South Staffordshire 14-10 after being pipped 11-10 by Staffordshire.
Although the under-18 and senior third squads failed to achieve a victory, their presence ensured that Herefordshire were not automatically placed bottom of the competition as they had been in the past.
Herefordshire's senior first and second team squads travel to West Dorset for their final England Counties League fixture on March 23.
