Kynoch 8 pts
Greyhound 7
GREYHOUND suffered a narrow defeat in an entertaining North Midlands 3 clash.
Kynoch attacked from the kick off and, with the wind at their backs, they opened the scoring with a successful penalty attempt. Greyhound did well in the first half to keep the visitors pinned back but they conceded the first try of the match following a defensive mistake.
The Hereford club pressed after the interval, with blustery conditions in their favour, and were rewarded with a try from prop Ian Mason who charged through the opposition defence. Rob Brimfield added the conversion to leave the visitors trailing by only point.
In the closing minutes, Greyhound again set up Mason to power through the home defence but the prop failed to hold on to the ball and the chance to snatch victory was missed.
