A NEW voice will soon be heard in the debate on roads and transportation in Herefordshire.

Herefordshire Trade Federation members have decided to discuss among themselves and others all the issues to find a viewpoint which meets their needs and aspirations.

The federation's monthly meeting on April 8 at the Graftonbury Garden Hotel will be an open discussion on traffic and transportation.

Director Peter Garner says a number of county councillors have been invited as well as the authority's officers involved in the work of planning and direction. He had also enlisted the interest of the Council for the Protection of Rural England.

Mr Garner said that in view of the proposed A49 to Rotherwas link road it was hoped members from the industrial estate would be present. Also welcomed would be views on whether there should be another bridge crossing and, if so, should it be placed to the east or west of the city.

The federation is also hoping that members from the larger firms like Sun Valley will attend - together with members from the agricultural community to take up the connection with the proposed movement of the cattle market to a site in the north west area.
