Shawbury United 0 Kington Town 2
THREE dismissals in the last 15 minutes took the gloss off Kington's away win which kept them in touch with the West Midlands League Premier Division leading clubs.
Controlling the ball was difficult in the blustery conditions and a lot of physical challenges saw the game become very bad tempered.
Kington took the lead mid-way through the first half with a disputed penalty, awarded when a bullet header from Alex Hunt rebounded from the crossbar and struck a home defender on the arm. Roy Jordan hammered home the spot kick.
The visitors stepped up the tempo after the interval and Andy Clarke extended Kington's lead with a fine individual goal, breaking from midfield to beat a couple of tackles before firing a 35-yard drive into the roof of the net.
Chris King was dismissed for retaliation after a heavy tackle, actually being shown the red card as he was carried off on a stretcher. He was followed by Clarke, and Jordan also went when he questioned Clarke's red card.
