HEREFORDSHIRE referees will have to make an extra commitment if they wish to move up the ladder thanks to the new regulations proposed by the Football Association.
The Herefordshire League has lost their Supply League status and the new system means that Class One referees will not now be able to move directly into the Southern League or Midland Football Alliance.
There will be another step in the progression towards the top level with local officials moving up to referee in the West Midlands League to further their ambitions.
This is part of a national system in which a lot of the smaller county leagues, including neighbouring Shropshire, have lost their authority to recommend successful Class One referees for elevation into the higher leagues.
