Ludlow Town Reserves 3 Hinton 4

HINTON recovered a two goal deficit to claim an exciting away victory over their south Shropshire hosts and consolidate their position in the top half of the West Midlands League Division 1 South.

Without four first team regulars, Hinton were slow to settle and were punished when home striker Richard Wozencroft struck twice in the first 15 minutes. The visitors sorted themselves out and got on terms before the break when Luke Semple used the strong following wind to score direct from a corner, and Matt Smalley crashed home a 35 yard drive.

Youngster Chris Williams claimed his first league goal to put Hinton ahead with a close range shot following a goalmouth scramble. Ludlow levelled with a freak goal when a 50-50 challenge in Hinton's half saw the ball balloon in the wind to Wozencroft who raced through to complete his hat-trick.

This set up an interesting finish and Hinton prevailed to claim victory when Wayne Morgan slipped a nicely weighted ball through the home defence for Ross Semple to collect, and after colliding with the Ludlow goalkeeper, recovered to fire home.
