MADAM, From our house we look directly at the polytunnels at Huntington mentioned by your correspondent from London.
I would agree the structures do not enhance the view. I understand the farmers concerned are growing organic horticultural produce. This has no subsidies (and no record of 'suffocating' life) and organic food, we are told, is what the public wants.
If Mr. Fallowell and the rest of the UK population are prepared to eat more British meat and to subsidise farming to a much greater degree, I am sure the farmers will be only too happy to grow whatever looks pretty, chosen from the limited options at 800 ft above sea level. It's their view too!
