MONKLAND, with its peaceful common and cosy pub, has always been pleasant. But now it is blooming marvellous.
Over the last two years villagers have planted an incredible 22,000 bulbs to mark the millennium. The glorious results are there for all to see this Easter.
Half of the community's millennium fund of almost £2,000 was spent on bulbs - and the enthusiast daffodil planters are still filling gaps, while they welcome visitors to the area.
