A HEREFORDSHIRE man is hoping his brainchild 'Chefspot' will attract funding to help turn his vision into reality.

His aim is to help people with learning difficulties and other disabilities to manage and operate their own company through training.

With the expertise and help from the board of trustees and paid staff, Chefspot hopes to establish a small catering business comprising of a caf and a training unit.

John Cadien, a Fellow of the Hotel and Catering International Management Association, an NVQ assessor and verifier, and a trained teacher, would oversee the operation.

Mr Cadien is disabled himself after suffering a severe spinal injury and he works from a wheel chair and possesses tremendous patience and a keen sense of humour - attractive qualities for a group with learning difficulties.

The organisation plans to break down the training syllabus into small manageable parts including stimulating teaching methods such as turning information into board games or role play.

Mr Cadien's niece, Katherine Qualtrough is supporting the scheme by taking part in the Paris marathon and would welcome further sponsorship.

Anyone wishing to make a donation should contact John Cadien c/o Chefspot, Brookfield Cottage, Wellington, Hereford HR4 8AZ or call 01432 830089.
