Ardley United 3 Ross Town 1
ROSS' promotion hopes were dealt a severe blow when they slipped to a rare defeat in Division 1 West of the Cherry Red Records Hellenic League.
The visitors were run ragged by a very young and impressive Ardley outfit, which was very different from the side that drew 1-1 at Ross earlier in the season.
The Oxfordshire club dominated from the start and the scoreline could have been greater had it not been for another fine performance by visiting goalkeeper Craig Ed-wards.
The home team opened the scoring in the 39th minute and extended their lead midway through the second half with an outstanding long-range free-kick.
Ardley deservedly grabbed a third goal with two minutes remaining before Billy Davis reduced arrears almost immediately with a 30-yarder.
