FORUM LAUNCH -- The first meeting of an outdoor activities awareness forum, set up by the National Assembly's minister for sport, Jenny Randerson, has been held at Storey Arms in the Brecon Beacons. The fo-rum has been established to consider how to disseminate safety informa-tion for those engaged in outdoor activities.

OPERA TIME -- A new opera for family audiences, Gwyneth and the Green Knight by Welsh composer Lynne Plow-man, is to have its world premiere at Theatr Brycheiniog, Brecon, on Thursday, April 11. The fast-moving and colourful production will be pre-sented by Music Theatre Wales.

POSTCARDS -- From next month (April) 100 venues across Wales, in-cluding Brecon, will be taking part in cADWyn, a project set up by Arts Disability Wales. Twelve pieces of work by dis-abled artists have been reproduced on to a series of postcards, which members of the public can pick up from those galleries, museums, libraries and other centres taking part.

DRAWINGS -- The cen-tral tower of historic Tre-tower Court in Brecon-shire is a familiar symbol in the work of award-winning artist Clive Hicks-Jenkins, who spent seven years there as as-sistant custodian. Drawings by the artist, entitled the Tower on the Hill, are being exhibited at Breck-nock museum and art gallery in Captain's Walk, Brecon, until April 21.

MASTERCLASS -- South Powys companies have responded positively to a business masterclass held in their area for the first time. Some 50 owners and managers turned up at Brecon when it was staged there. The event was organised by the Mid Wales region of ELWa (Education and Learning Wales) in association with the University School of Management, Aberyst-wyth, and Spinout.
