MADAM, As a chartered mechanical engineer I have some knowledge of structures and water engineering.

If, as the reports says, the foundations were unstable, why were glass stress plates not fixed to register the degree of movement?

During my time at the pool I have seen no evidence of any movement in the foundations and there are no brickwork cracks, usually the first sign.

Just how dangerous is the roof? Again, there are none of the tell-tale signs. The roof stayed intact during recent very high winds which is more than can be said for the roof at Hereford Football Club.

As for the 'leak' many companies specialise in remedying such faults and if the pool's life were to be extended the cost would be justified.

As for mould spores, these, I suggest, are of no major significance as I have seen them in buildings less than 12 months old and they are easily eradicated. It would seem the decision to close was done in a moment of panic and without due consideration.

And why spend £3 million on a new pool which will be 25 per cent smaller, especially as the population of Leominster is increasing? I would like to think the 'report' will be published so the public can evaluate the decisions.
