THE new point-to-point course at Cold Harbour, near Monkland, will host its inaugural fixture this Sunday for the Radnor and West meeting.
Sir Thomas and Lady Dunne will officially open the brand new venue at 2pm before a special mountain bike race in aid of the Injured Jockeys Fund launches the action.
On these saddles of a very different kind, five professional jockeys, including Richard Johnson, Leighton Aspell and Philip Hide, will be taking on a team of five amateur riders at Cold Harbour.
The nine-race card, starting at 3pm, has attracted a record entry of 289. The Men's Open event for the Crudwell Cup will be the area's first race over four miles.
The Cold Harbour course is one mile off the A4110 Hereford-Wigmore road.
