WELLINGTON footballer Adam Bendall is the latest young player from the village outfit to join the books of a Football League club.
The promising central midfielder has signed a two-year contract with the Under-13 Centre of Excellence of Division 2 club Cardiff City.
The Aylestone School pupil has been with Wellington since the age of nine and he also attended the Hereford Centre of Excellence.
Adam is the third Wellington player in recent years to sign for a Football League club, following in the footsteps of cousins Matthew and Andrew Williams, who are both at Division 2 outfit Cheltenham Town.
Matthew, a central midfielder or right winger, plays for both the Under-19 and Reserve side at Whaddon Road, while centre-forward Andrew is a member of the Under-17 side.
Wellington centre-half Chris Jones is also attracting attention and he is being closely monitored by Wales Under-18.
