A CHARITY fundraiser has taken a small step on a giant journey that should eventually take him from Land's End to John O'Groats.
Alex Oberton, from Whitecross, set out to walk from Hereford to Brecon to raise money for Action Aid, a world-wide charity that seeks to tackle poverty and deprivation.
Though he only covered 20 miles of the 38-mile trek before suffering a knee injury he still raised about £100 and is confident it will not upset his plans for the summer.
The 20-year-old, who works at Staybrite Windows, said: "I didn't want to go on in case I hurt myself anymore.
"But I am still planning to walk from Hereford to Cardiff next month and Land's End to John O'Groats in the summer."
Anyone who wants to sponsor Alex can call 07811 895839.
