MAYOR and mayoress of Hereford, Alan and Julie Williams, will ride tandem through a county village to drink coffee with the High Sheriff's wife next week.
They will cycle from Hereford to Canon Pyon to meet Lady Bridget Bengough at the parish hall for a bring and buy coffee morning in aid of St Michael's Hospice on Saturday, February 15.
Lady Bengough has held fundraising mornings at her home in the village for many years.
"I discovered it is also the mayor's chosen charity and as the event has outgrown our house we are holding it at Canon Pyon Parish Hall and the mayor and mayoress will open it," said Lady Bengough.
She added: "There will be a variety of stalls including toys, books, cakes, home made produce and bottles, so please bring along your family and friends."
The morning starts at 10am and finishes at 12.30pm. Anyone who wants to sponsor Alan and Julie Williams on their ride from Hereford to Canon Pyon can contact St Michael's Hospice on 01432 851000.
