Published this month, local children's author Katherine Roberts' new book 'The Amazon Temple Quest' was launched in fitting style at the British Museum.

The third in her Seven Fabulous Wonders series which is based on the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, Katherine's new book is set in 356BC and tells the story of two sisters - last of the warrior-race of Amazons - who seek sanctuary in the famous Temple of Artemis at Ephesos.

The author weaves an exciting web where the ancient world meets fantasy in an exciting tale of adventure and intrigue which is aimed at readers between the age of eight and twelve.

Always a fan of fantasy, Katherine's interest in ancient history and myth proved an inspiration when she took the plunge as full time author having been made redundant at the end of the eighties from her

job in computing.

"No-one knows everything about the Ancient Wonders which allows me to fill in the gaps with magic," she said.

"Each book tells a separate story, set in a different period in history, which I like. It also means that each one can be approached independently."

The Amazon Temple Quest is published by HarperCollins at £5.99 and is the third in a series of books following best-selling titles 'The Great Pyramid Robbery' and 'The Babylon Game'..
