WHIST DRIVE -- The first of the 2002 Social Whist Drives took place at the New Strand, Eardisley on Monday, January 27. Philip Jenkins, the MC, welcomed players and presented prizes to Mrs M Gates, Mrs D Davis, Mrs M Thomas, Mrs M Goode, Mrs K Jenkins and Mrs B Lane. The next whist drive will be on Monday, February 24, with play commencing at 7.45pm.

BINGO -- The Eardisley Royal British Legion Women's Section has arranged a Valentine Bingo evening in the Curzon Herrick Hall on Saturday, February 15, with eyes-down at 7.45pm.

COFFEE MORNING -- Loraine Hesp is hosting a Coffee Morning at her home, Castle House, Eardisley on Thursday, February 6, from 10am until noon in support of the Gambia Project at Malvern Girls College. The proceeds will be used to continue work, which they have been doing over the past twelve years to support the education of local children and the upkeep of their schools. METHODIST CHURCH -- Preachers for the February services held each Sunday at the Eardisley Methodist Church will be Mr G Carter (9), Mr W L Beers (16, Holy Communion) and the Rev. A Deans (23).

WOMEN'S INSTITUTE -- When the Eardisley WI meet on Thursday, February 13 the speaker will be Angela Hugman, a physiotherapist who will be recounting some of her adventures in the many countries which she has visited.

VILLAGE HALL -- Tickets for the Sunday Luncheon, to be held in the Curzon Herrick Hall, on February 16, can be obtained from Janet Davies at the Cottage Shop. Further luncheons will take place on April 6, June 1, October 19, and December 14.

OVER 60s -- The AGM took place in the Chapel on Thursday, January 30. The subscription to the club is £3 per annum. New members are very welcome and further details can be obtained from 01544 327274 or 01544 327446.

HISTORY GROUP -- The next meeting of the Eardisley History Group will take place in the New Strand at 7.30 on Wednesday, February 12.
