LUNCHEON -- A very enjoyable luncheon, organised by the Almeley Hall Committee, took place in the village hall on Sunday, January 26.

CHILDREN'S SOCIETY -- It is hoped that there will be good support for a coffee morning and bring and buy which has been arranged to take place in the village hall on Saturday, February 15, from 10.30am, until noon. The proceeds are for the Children's Society. Holders of society boxes are invited to bring them, in order that they can be emptied.

CUSHIONS -- When the Parochial Church Council met in January it was proposed that new embroidered cushions could be made for the pews in the centre aisle of St Mary's Church. Liz Russel and Claire Price have agreed to co-ordinate the arrangements for this project. Anyone who is interested in making a cushion or would care to sponsor the making of one should contact the co-ordinator Liz Russel on 01544 327469 or Claire Price on 01544 327798.

CHOIR -- When the Almeley Church Choir went carol singing, in Almeley village they raised £85 for the Save the Children Fund. Choir members are very grateful to everyone who donated money, to Mr and Mrs Wilkins for refreshments and Mr and Mrs Button for providing warm food and drinks on a very cold, wet evening.

BELLS INN -- the quiz teams are doing well with the A team at the top and the B team having had their first win.
