MADAM, I am writing following the recent national publicity surrounding the story of Reginald Crew, who had Motor Neurone Disease and travelled to Switzerland for an assisted suicide.

On behalf of the local MND Association, I would like to express my sympathy to Mr Crew's family. This must be an incredibly painful time for them.

There is no doubt that Motor Neurone Disease is a devastating condition but living with MND is a very individual and personal issue.

While some feel as Mr Crew did, there are equally many others with MND who hold the opposite view, and want to continue living as full and positive a life as possible.

Herefordshire Motor Neurone Disease Association is here to support local people with MND and their families and carers.

We provide information and support, as well as raise money to help local families affected by the disease.

For information about the Branch contact Mrs Frances Whall on 01989 730644.

JOY FIELD,

Parson Croft, Ross-on-Wye.
