Ledbury TOWN 0, TIPTON TOWN 4

LEDBURY Town's hopes of a title challenge were dashed on Saturday when they were beaten 4-0 at home by second-placed Tipton Town.

Tipton controlled the game for long periods especially after the home side had lost Stuart Smith in the 25th minute, the only player shown a card after a brawl broke out on the edge of the Town penalty box.

The only goal of the first half saw Ravi Sangha outstrip the labouring home defence in the 15th minute and cross for Ricardo Marshall to tap home.

Ledbury's only worthwhile effort of the half was a snap shot from 20 yards by Smith.

Sangha sealed the home side's fate with a second half hat-trick although Ledbury felt aggrieved at one goal which was scored when their 17-year-old goalkeeper Adam Ding was floored with a head injury.

Worse was to follow for the Town who had manager Paul Wilband dismissed following a confrontation.

Town are without a game tomorrow (Saturday) but travel to Dudley Town on Tuesday evening (7.45).

Cup derby victory

Goals from Duncan Preedy and own goal by Craig Williams saw Town defeat visiting Malvern Town 2-0 on Wednesday night in the Premier Division Cup.
