Colwall made the long trip to Bournemouth and deservedly earned a 3-3 draw.
BOURNEMOUTH LADIES 3, COLWALL 1ST XI 3
An injury-hit Colwall made a solid start in an action packed first half and took the lead after a goal mouth scramble, Emma Twigg well placed to net a rebounded shot.
Bournemouth responded with a quick break and Vicky Riley bravely blocked a goal bound shot. Colwall's quick pace and slick passing was causing problems in the home defence and from a short corner strike, Emma Twigg netted her second to put the Herefordshire team two up. Bournemouth replied strongly and scored with a penalty stroke, the ball hitting an unfortunate Colwall foot on the goal line.
Colwall's next attack ended in a penalty stroke when Nina Emery was impeded just as she was about to score. Cathy Clements despatched the penalty with ease.
Again Bournemouth came back and after several ricochets bundled the ball over the line to make it 3-2 at half time.
Colwall went forward at every opportunity in the second half to increase the lead but were frustrated by desperate defending from the home team.
A rare attack from Bournemouth produced a short corner and after a good save by Anna Price the loose ball was powerfully struck home to level the score.
Colwall play Portishead/Fire-brands tomorrow (Saturday) at Ledbury Leisure Centre, 12.30pm start.
