A HARD-HITTING campaign to get people to 'belt up' has been launched this month by the West Mercia Constabulary.
And as part of the road safety initiative, Herefordshire Community Safety Partnership's Road Safety Implementation Group is focussing on the back seat passenger.
The campaign gives a clear message that not wearing a seatbelt is dangerous and irresponsible and by not belting up in the back, the person in front of you is at risk of death or serious injury.
This week Herefordshire Council's road safety trailer was in Sainsbury's car park at Barton Yard, Hereford, offering advice to shoppers in tandem with the police, health visitors and staff from Halfords.
