Victoria Johansen, of Ewyas Harold has been awarded a £3,000 bursary in a national competition run by Sure deodorants.
Although Victoria has over 20 years experience as a secretary and PA, circumstances changed when her daughter died three years ago leaving her in charge of her two grandchildren.
To support the youngsters, who are five and 11, emotionally as well as financially, Victoria needed more flexibility at work.
With the help of the bursary, she is setting herself up as a freelance PA providing 'virtual assistant' office support.
The Sure bursary is designed to help five people build confidence and skills required to secure their dream job.
