A Leominster man who died of a brain haemorrhage consistent with that of banging his head, died of natural causes, an inquest heard.

Glyn Bridge Jones of Green Lane, Leominster, was admitted to Leominster Community Hospital on October 4, 2001 after he became frail and confused due to a variety of medical conditions.

Eighty-eight year old Mr Jones had three falls during his stay at the hospital and was transferred to Hereford County Hospital on October 22, 2001, where he died later that day.

Coroner, David Halpern recorded that Mr Jones died from a haemorrhage with high blood pressure and heart disease.

He concluded: "Normally, when a person dies from a fall, and it is obvious that Mr Jones died from a medical cause relating to his falls, it would normally be an accidental death.

"His medical condition was such that he would be unsteady on his feet and that falls were a natural consequence of his condition."
