Hereford County Hospital is re-enforcing its existing no smoking rule.
It will apply to the whole of its site from immediate effect.
A smoking 'shelter' outside the hospital near the entrance will also be taken out of action on National No Smoking Day of March 12. Hereford Hospitals Trust says it has trades Union backing and the ban will apply to patients and visitors as well as staff employed by the Trust and its Private Finance partners.
