A Hereford angler, who fishes for fun at the weekends, is now considering taking the sport more seriously after landing a giant pike on the banks of the River Wye near the Eign Bridge, Hereford.
Richard Morris, 22, was thrilled with his biggest-ever catch but naturally disappointed that he would not gain any significant recognition for capturing the impressive 28lb pike, which he later returned to the water unharmed.
The Tupsley resident has been involved in the sport for the past 10 years and his three companions, with whom he regularly fishes, Paul Jones, Timothy Reeks and Paul Lively, are now also thinking about becoming members of the county angling association.
