Luctonians 24 pts Bromsgrove 3

LUCTONIANS marched into the final of the North Midlands Under-19 Cup - where they will meet county rivals Hereford - with a comprehensive win over their Worcestershire rivals.

It was only Luctonians' second match in five months but they were far from ring-rusty, particularly in the second half.

Luctonians thought they had opened the scoring on 20 minutes through Tom Perrin but the left-winger was adjudged to have been in touch.

And, from the resulting set-piece, Luctonians stole the ball and moved it wide for Adam Christie-Rees to score on the opposite flank.

The try appeared to galvanise the home team, although a string of penalties ensured Bromsgrove remained in contention and the visitors converted one just before the break.

James Powell scored Luctonians' second try on 53 minutes and soon after Mark Carvill was sent to the sin-bin following a 58th-minute fracas. Ricky Cleland then scored their third try, which Chris Condliffe converted.

Luctonians rounded off the scoring with the best try of the game when a fine move, involving Harrison and man-of-the-match Gareth Bufton, ended in a second score for Christie-Rees.
