A NIGHT of dazzling special effects is on the cards as staff and students at a Kington school prepare to stage their latest production 'The Wizard of Oz'.
Nearly 100 pupils from Lady Hawkins High School are involved with the production, which opens tonight (March 6) and runs for three nights only.
'Dorothy' will be played by newcomer, 16-year-old Lauren Jeal from Kent who joined the sixth form last September and another new member to the school, Key Stage 4 co-ordinator, Sally-Ann Wilsher has been working on the choreography.
The school's reputation for high quality drama was highlighted two years ago when their production of Shakespeare's 'Twelfth Night' won the first county drama trophy.
Although some seats maybe available on the night, director Frances Field advises people to reserve or buy their tickets in advance by contacting the school direct on 01544 230441.
